One-off panels, brackets and metalwork shaped in-house when the part you need doesn't exist — or never did.
Bradford, Vermont · On the Banks of the Connecticut River
Tilted Hat Motorsports restores and reimagines collector cars — concours classics, vintage Broncos, hot rods and modern-drivetrain restomods — for collectors across the country who expect the work to be right, down to the last fastener.
Our work has been shown at Pebble Beach, Cavallino and Amelia Island.
Capabilities
A concours restoration or a ground-up restomod touches every trade there is. We don't farm the hard parts out — metal, machine work, engine, paint and wiring all happen here in Bradford, where one standard applies to all of it.

One-off panels, brackets and metalwork shaped in-house when the part you need doesn't exist — or never did.

Three welding processes on the bench, so the joint gets the method the metal calls for — not the one that's convenient.

When a 90-year-old component can't be sourced, we machine it. Precision parts made to fit the car, not the catalog.

From period-correct rebuilds to modern swaps like Coyote-powered restomods, built and assembled in our shop.

Bodywork and finish at Pebble Beach and Amelia Island caliber — panels straight enough for judges, paint deep enough for the lawn.

Full harnesses built and routed with the same care as the sheet metal — tidy, labeled, and reliable for decades.
The Work
The range on our shop floor is the proof of the capability list above. These are real projects that rolled out of this building in Bradford.
Why "Tilted Hat"
The shop is named in honor of Bob Musty — a WWII Navy veteran and skilled craftsman who taught his grandson Ben the discipline of tending his tools, keeping a tidy workspace, and refining every detail until the work is perfect.
Nearly 30 years later, founder and lead technician Ben Musty has restored and customized cars for some of the nation's foremost collectors, with work displayed at Pebble Beach, Cavallino and Amelia Island. That standard — his grandfather's standard — is applied to every car that comes through the door, whether it's a prewar Bugatti or a family's vintage Bronco.

We're not a quick-turn body shop, and we won't pretend to be. We're the shop collectors trust when the car has to be done right — nearly 30 years of craftsmanship stands behind every build.
